»Monsignor McGolrick Park

Formerly called Winthrop Park, Monsignor McGolrick Park was renamed so after the then pastor of the local church. It is a popular recreational space located in the heart of Brooklyn. This dog-friendly park features a Shelter Pavilion, several playgrounds and a historic monument. The statue commemorates the people of Greenpoint who partook in World War I, and is an icon of victory and peace.

»Finback Brewery

Finback Brewery, named in the honor of a whale found dead on the shore of the Breezy Point in 2012, is revolutionizing the beer drinking experience! The brewery is open from Thursday to Sunday with guided tours available on the weekends from three in the afternoon. Each tour is twenty minutes long which helps one make educated choices about beers! The tasting room is open to visitors from Friday to Sunday for four hours. Complimentary popcorn is served with the beer but one can also carry food inside. There are over a dozen or so beers on tap, all of which are available in small tasters, half pours or full. Finback are known to take risks to create new and interesting flavors. They hold various events, beer fests and also have an online store where one can buy exclusive Finback merchandise.

»Newtown Creek Nature Walk

Newtown Creek Nature Walk is a walk-way, that was designed by environmental sculptor, George Trakas. It was built by order of the New York City Department of Environmental Protection, as part of the restoration work being done on the city's waste-water treatment plant. The walk-way is about quarter of a mile, and is a good way of teaching its visitors about the city's waste -water treatment plan, through a look at its water digesters and settling tanks. Visitors also get to learn a lot about the city's history at Newtown Creek Nature Walk.

»Russian Orthodox Cathedral of the Transfiguration of Our Lord

The Russian Orthodox Cathedral of the Transfiguration of Our Lord is a landmark in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, NY. This historic cathedral was erected between 1916 and 1921 and was later listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The founders of this parish were immigrants to America from present-day Poland. This building is one of the only examples of Byzantine Revival architecture in the state. Owing to its Russian lineage, the cathedral is designed with five domes, each mounted with gilded Orthodox crosses. The breathtaking interiors are replete with golden walls, high arched ceilings and intricate stained-glass paintings. It continues to be of great historic and cultural importance.
