The Global Wildlife Center is this country's largest completely free-roaming wildlife preserve. It's an African safari in New Orleans' backyard. Senior citizens use the library for preparation of taxes. Copy and fax machines are available at all branches. A small fee is charged for these services. Display windows may be used by individuals and organizations. Computers with varied databases are conveniently placed in each library for use by patrons. Book sales are held regularly. Professional exhibits of historical and cultural interest are displayed frequently.

    LIGO Livingston Observatory is a gravitational wave observatory since 1999. Its focus is to detect gravitational waves from the cosmos. It has more than 40 interactive exhibits that gives an insight on this science. Since it is a working observatory, visitors get a chance to interact with the engineers and scientists as well. Public tours are offered and appointments are required for that.
