Born and raised in New York, LP grew up pursuing music, as her mother loved to sing. During her first years in the music industry, going down the ruthless label road, LP fell into songwriting for established artists such as Rihanna and Christina Aguilera. Eventually, she found her way back onto the stages of local, low-key Los Angeles clubs. The artist's breakthrough came in 2011 when she signed with Warner Bros. Records, after her single "Into the Wild" was prominently featured in a national Citibank commercial. The album, Into the Wild was released soon after and contained five live songs from when she toured the nation's biggest festivals.LP has begun to dominate the music charts with recordings from her 2014 album Forever For Now, the result of her successful collaboration withGrammy Award-winning producer Rob Cavallo.
