Psy: Les 7 Doigts De La Main

Irvine, CA 92697
From 7 Fingers (Les 7 Doigts de la Main), the innovative Canadian performance troupe whose show "Tracers" was an international hit, comes this awe-inspiring show that's been called a "perfect blend of virtuosic technique, fantasy and poetry" ("La Presse"). The preternaturally gifted performers of 7 Fingers really know how to put on a show, combining inventive juggling, aerial rope, teeterboard and circus skills to dazzling effect. The new show, "Séquence 8", carries emotional dynamics to the point of explosion in an acrobatic dance and theater piece that contemplates the role of the "other" -- and how we define ourselves in relation to it. Come see the troupe that prompted "Time Out" to rave: "[Y]ou'll be moved emotionally at least as often as you're just flat-out astounded."

Adrianna Marie & Her Groovecutters
Don The BeachcomberFebruary 27, 2015 7:30 PM
16278 Pacific Coast Highway
Huntington Beach, CA 92649
Adrianna Marie & Her Groovecutters is a swinging 6-piece band whose lead singer is as brassy as their horn section. Steeped in musical history, Adrianna Marie leads her band in jazzy blues standards, rocking ballads and R&B dance numbers. Her fellas in the band captivate their audience, compelling them to kick up their heels and boogie on Don the Beachcomber's big dance floor. When you add a jump blues guitar artist of Junior Watson's stature to the mix, it creates the kind of Must-See event which B&B's Musical Thrills is famous for. From Canned Heat to the Mighty Flyers and Big Mama Thornton, this cat has been around the block. Put these two high-powered acts together and watch the sparks fly! To add yet another dimension, enter our Dance Contest, and compete for $100 per couple first prize, plus all-access passs for a year to B&B events. All-ages show, dinner, drinks and dancing available. Reserved seats are recommended. 714-809-6146 or purchase now. Review: "What a delight it is to hear a beautiful, natural voice. Adrianna Marie sings without affectation but with all the expressiveness, sass,  and class of stylists like Dinah Washington, Little Esther and Helen Humes. From the rocking R&B of Esthers Cherry Wine to a lowdown treatment of  Humess I Aint In The Mood, she is splendid. In front of the spectacular, big  band version of Louis Jordans swinging Is You Is Or Is You Aint My  Baby, or the reading of Billie Holidays jazzy Sugar, Adrianna Marie is pure sophistication. In duets with LA Joneson Big Maybelles Thats A Pretty Good  Love and on the lovely ballad, originally by Johnny Otis and Little Esther,  that gives Double Crossing Blues  its titleshe is by turns steamy and reserved. In every setting and mood,  Adrianna Marie and the Groovecutters, who provide expert ensemble work and memorable solos, and step out on their own on Freddy Kings Sad Night Owl, are  picture-perfect."  -  Tom Hyslop, Senior Writer, Blues Music Magazine Sample video of 2014 blues blast music award performance by Adrianna https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4Q-I_UHXS4o Sample video of Junior playing a compilation https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7BxCAhmwpmk

Artis Leon Ivey Jr. is an rapper, actor and producer who is known by his stage name Coolio. He started recording in the last 1980s but made his breakthrough after releasing his debut album It Takes a Thief, in 1994. The album became certified platinum and spawned the track "Fantastic Voyage," which went on to become one of the biggest singles of the year. Coolio's contribution to the 1995 film Dangerous Minds titled "Gangsta's Paradise," became the number one song of the year for all genres, reaching number one in over a dozen countries and earning him a Grammy for Best Rap Solo Performance. He added the song and made it the title track to his 1995 double platinum album. Although Coolio released a few more hit songs, his susequent albums failed to meet the expectations that came with the world-wide success of Gansta's Paradise.
