The brand-new Children's Museum Guild Haunted House promises to scare the dickens out of the little ones, or just educate and amuse them, depending on when they go to see it. Daylight "Friendly Hours" keep the lights on for an interactive adventure, while evening "Frightening Hours" turn the lights down low and the chills-factor up. There's also an overnight camp, meals with witches, trick-or-treating, and a theater.

In New England, many families summer in quaint towns far away from the hustle and bustle of city life. Doing this provides well-to-do families with an opportunity to indulge in activities like boating, fishing, hiking, star gazing, et al. in the play On Golden Pond this East Coast vacation experience is examined. The story tracks the lives of Ethel and Norman Thayer, two aging lovers, and the relationships they have with their daughter and her son. This examination of love, life, death, morals, attachment and abandonment is very dramatic and if you find yourself shedding a tear during the play's climax, you probably won't be alone.

Educated in old-time folk by the fiddler Joe Thompson, one of the few fiddlers still alive who plays in a short bowing style that was passed down from generations of plantation slaves, North Carolina trio Carolina Chocolate Drops channels back porch folk from the twenties and thirties. The band has mastered this style so flawlessly that it often covers modern RnB songs in this style, which has garnered the band quite a bit of attention and positive press. Though the Carolina Chocolate Drops weren't known beyond certain bluegrass circles in its early years, its 2010 album Genuine Negro Jig charted at #1 on the Us Bluegrass chart and #2 on the US Folk charts for many weeks.
