Serving the African American community, the Beth Salem Presbyterian Church is touted to be one of the foremost churches in the county. Added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2000, initially it was closed down and later restored in 1950s.
Clear Springs Cumberland Presbyterian Church was established in 1860. It was initially a part of the Knoxville Presbytery, and in 2007, the church was accorded a listing in the National Register.
The Charleston Cumberland Presbyterian Church dates back to the 1860s. During the Civil War, this church was transformed in to a medical facility that treated wounded Confederate soldiers. This church was included in the U.S. National Register of Historic Places in 1984.
