Michael Kosta
Punch Line Comedy ClubMarch 05, 2015 8:00 PM
2100 Arden Way
Sacramento, CA 95825
Los Angeles-based comedian Michael Kosta has done an admirable job of establishing himself as a formidable talent on the stand-up circuit. With a roster list that includes an appearance on the The Tonight Show With Jay Leno, a Comedy Central hour long special, a performance at the Montreal Just For Laughs Festival and a frequent guest on the nationally syndicated Bob and Tom radio program, Kosta's notoriety has managed to grow quite significantly over the past few years. His style of humor endearingly lambastes nearly every aspect of society, especially the neo-centric Southern California culture. Kosta has admirably risen above to plethora of other stand-up comedians in Los Angeles to now be viewed as one of the more promising up and comers of his generation.

The Outlaws and Blackhawk

Outlaws is a rock and roll outfit from Tampa, Florid, that owns a tough brand of Southern rock. Initially formed in 1967, the band dissolved in 1971 before releasing a record, only to reform the following year with a rejuvenated lineup. Outlaws dropped its eponymous debut album in 1975, kicking off a string of successful, definitive records that lasted through the end of the decade. As the band's notoriety died down into the 1980s and 1990s, the band was put on hold when lead vocalist and guitarist Hughie Thomasson joined Lynyrd Skynyrd in 1996. Almost a decade later in 2005, the four surviving original members reunited again as Outlaw, and the band continues to release new material, including the 2012 studio LP, It's About Pride.

Julius Caesar
Sacramento Theatre Company - Mainstage TheatreMarch 05, 2015 6:30 PM
1419 H Street
Sacramento, CA 95814
Deep in the heart of the capital, a murderous political intrigue unfolds as the Sacramento Theatre Company stages "Julius Caesar", the Shakespeare "history play" that remains intensely relevant to contemporary audiences. More scandalous than "Scandal" and more devious than "House of Cards", "Julius Caesar" finds its title character locked in a life-and-death struggle for power with his former "friends, Romans, countrymen," Brutus, Casca and Cassius. But in this staging of the play, Cassius and Casca will be played by women and the whole production will be set in a hypothetical near-future America. The actions of these friends-turned-conspirators set off a civil war at the dawn of the Roman Empire in the original telling, and in this modern version you'll get to see what happens when celebrity and politics are blurred and money matters more than policy.
