Share an evening of laughs with Jack Gallagher, a true comedy veteran with more than 30 years' worth of hilarious stories to tell. Gallagher's had the kind of career most comedians would kill for: He was a regular at The Improv, made numerous appearances on "The Tonight Show" and "Conan", has starred alongside Larry David on "Curb Your Enthusiasm" -- and even had his very own sitcom, ABC's "Bringing Up Jack". Now the silver-haired funnyman will share his funniest and most memorable anecdotes on the Auburn Placer Performing Arts Center stage in "An Evening With Jack Gallagher: Can't Pretend That Growing Older Never Hurts".

»Arcadia

April 18, 2015 8:00 PM

Deemed "the greatest play of its time" by London's "The Independent", Tom Stoppard's "Arcadia" seamlessly blends philosophical discussion with down-to-earth emotion. It's a play alive with ideas, but the human characters are never lost or diminished. Quite the opposite, they are somehow made more real by their participation in a conversation that seems to span centuries. Set in a sprawling English country estate owned by the Coverly family, "Arcadia" moves between the 19th century and the present taking the viewer through a series of love stories. The characters from both eras discover connections, unearth mysteries and unravel hidden truths. Running at the Renton Civic Theatre, the audience sees the action in both time periods, while the characters -- even as they begin to share the same stage -- weave past each other in a complicated dance, never able to connect because they are lost in time.
