One of the better family spots to visit, wildlife and environment are the main focus at Ballarat Wildlife Park. The park was established in 1985 by the Parker family because of their desire to have people connect with wildlife in a comfortable and friendly place. The selection of animals is very different than anywhere else in the world, and it headlines animals that can only be called unique treasures!
With an area covering almost 98.84 acres (40 hectares) of natural green land, the Ballarat Botanical Gardens opened in the year 1857. Not too far from Lake Wendouree, it is home to the famous Statuary pavilion and Statue of William 'Braveheart' Wallace.
An open parkland within the famous Ballarat Botanical Gardens, the North Gardens includes a cricket pitch which is used for casual matches, and a picnic pavilion which serves as a venue for family gatherings and private reunions. It also houses The Sound Shell where a lot of musical events take place, The Maze which is a site for fun and games, and the famous Ballarat Zoo which catches the attention of many tourists.

This is a maze you could really get lost in. The object is not just to find your way through, but to solve a list of puzzles along the way. The answers can be gleaned from the statues of fairytale creatures hiding in the maze's corners and dead ends. If you get all the answers right, there's an edible reward. Mount Beckworth Wines produces mainly Chardonnay and Pinot Noir for both sparkling and table wine. It also produces high quality wines like Cabernet and Shiraz with good, ripe flavors. On a day trip to the country-side, it calls for a tour to visit this winery. Weekday trips are by appointment only.
The Daylesford Town Hall doubles up as an event venue and community center that hosts interesting and fun events throughout the year.
