Batavia Downs is the oldest lighted racetrack in North America. Started in 1939, this facility features a half-mile oval racetrack with Euro-style rails. Live harness racing is featured July through December. Operated by Western Region Off Track Betting, the racetrack also has simulcasts from North America’s top tracks seven days a week. The second floor of the facility has 150 TVs to watch your favorite races. Batavia Downs Casino features video lottery terminals and 586 gaming machines. Food is available in the Grandstand Bar and Grill. The menu features homemade soups, like western cheddar cheese soup and artichoke, tomato, and roasted red pepper soup. This restaurant, which opened in 2008, is located within Batavia Downs Racetrack and Casino. It features a large dining area with flat screen TV's, a bar area and a stage for live entertainment. Specials include a Sunday Brunch with eggs benedict, sausage, ham, pancakes, home fries, soup and salads, and more. On Saturday evenings they have a dinner buffet from 5p to 9p and an all-you-can-eat lunch buffet on Monday-Thursday from 11am-3pm. An evening dinner special is available Monday through Thursday. Their signature menu is their rack of ribs, which is Louisiana smoked and smothered in their special Cajun BBQ sauce.
