    »Badfish - A Tribute to Sublime

    October 25, 2014 8:00 PM

Bradley Nowell, lead singer/songwriter for the seminal band Sublime, may have died prematurely, but the soul-filled music he wrote for Sublime lives on because of Badfish: A Tribute To Sublime. The members met while attending the University of Rhode Island in 2001; five years after Nowell's passing. The trio plays all of Sublime's timeless songs like "Santeria" and "Wrong Way." When the members of Badfish feel the urge to write original songs they perform them in the group Scotty Don't.

»Aaron Carter w/ Andrea Godin, Roger Ortega, Evident Truth, Breckenwood, & Jennafer Lynsey

    October 25, 2014 6:00 PM

The youngest male solo artist to have four Top 40 singles, pop sensation Aaron Carter began his career in show biz at the tender age of seven. Over the next five years he made a name for himself as an energetic and charismatic performer, both onstage and on albums such as his 1998 self-titled debut and the following years Surfin' USA, both of which were successful in Japan and Germany as well as in the States. A single on the Pokemon: The First Movie soundtrack, opening gigs for the Backstreet Boys and Britney Spears, a biography and video collection, and appearances on Nickelodeon set the stage for his third album, 2000's Aaron's Party (Come Get It). The party continued on Oh Aaron, which was issued in summer 2001. Successful tours with both the Backstreet Boys and Britney Spears kept him busy into the next year, but by the spring of 2002 he was back in the studio again. Calling on several big-name pop producers, Carter put together Another Earthquake! during the year and released it that fall

»42nd Annual Rochester Gem, Mineral, Jewelry and Fossil Show & Sale

    October 25, 2014 10:00 AM

A pioneer of the emo movement, Mineral is an Austin-based indie band that was initially formed in 1994. After releasing two albums, starting with 1997's The Power of Failing, the band split up before the decade was over, but its angsty lyrics, melodic vocals and soft, pensive guitar stylings went on to influence the subsequent wave of emo music that emerged in the 2000s. After nearly two decades of inactivity, Mineral announced a reunion tour in 2014.

»War Of The Worlds: The Radio Play

    October 25, 2014 8:00 PM

Orson Welles made history and scared the daylights out of America with his 1938 radio drama of H.G. Wells' "The War of the Worlds". Now you can travel back to that CBS radio studio and relive the magic of a near-forgotten art form. Curtis Theatre's recreation of the classic radio broadcast uses the original script of Wells' chilling tale of an alien invasion, which reaches listeners through a string of urgent news bulletins and a cast of veteran voice actors. It features live sound effects, actors shuffling pages and on-air commercials, just like the real thing.
