As you could guess from the name, bowling is the name of the game at Strike & Co. You can reserve a lane for regular bowling, come at night for Disco Bowling (music, lights, florescent-colored pins), or take advantage of the lunch buffet Monday through Friday from 11a to 2p, which includes a round of bowling with your meal. If you're not in the mood for games, you can just come for dinner and drinks, but food isn't really the main reason to come.
The cupcake trend has made it to Sweden! At Be My Cupcake, you'll find American-style, beautifully decorated cupcakes with names like Heavenly Blue Lemon Dream, Love Cupcake, Chocolate Therapy and Tiger Cupcake to name a few. If a whole cupcake sounds too much for you, there are also mini-cupcakes available. The decor here is equally as cute, so feel free to sit and enjoy your treat.
Enjoy the food and atmosphere of a standard pub at Tidbloms Pub & Restaurang. Here you can try items like fish & chips, burgers and grilled beef, as well as the Caesar salad and vegetarian burger. On Fridays from 4p to 7p, try the all-you-can-eat buffet, and check out the happy hour drinks at the bar. There are regular live music performances and comedy nights. You can also put your knowledge to the test at the variety of quiz nights.
Since opening, this restaurant has been a local favorite with its unique blend of worldwide influences and traditional Swedish cooking. The menu changes daily based on what is fresh, but always offers a seafood and vegetarian option.

Le Baron, in spite of its name, is quite a pleasant, humble little restaurant offering both pizzas and an à la carte menu, among other things. The restaurant is right opposite Svenska Mässan, where many exhibitions and conferences are held. It is small but cozy, with brick walls and checkered tablecloths. The menu offers pizzas, several solid meat and fish dishes, and also some cheaper smaller ones and a number of pasta dishes of which one is vegetarian. There are several salads to choose from and a separate children's menu. The pizzas are available for takeaway. The daily lunches include a choice of the pizzas from the menu and also a traditional Swedish dish, which varies from day to day.
Located in the Filmstaden Bergakungen, Danilo has a classic, old-movie feel. Here you can enjoy American, Italian and Asian fare. You probably never thought you'd find hamburgers and sushi on the same menu, but here it is! If you're looking for a latte or a drink before or after a show, you can find that here, too.
La Cucina Italiana is one of the few places in Gothenburg where smoking is strictly prohibited. The owner, Pietro Fioriniello, prefers the guests not to use their mobile phones either; he has had a "no ringing" sign printed at the bottom of the menu. And on the stone walls of the restaurant, he also exhibits his paintings. La Cucina Italiana is situated right opposite Svenska Mässan, where many exhibitions and conferences are held, and is very popular among the Gothenburg locals.
Art and food combine at Linnéa Art Restaurant. Here you can try the four-course or eight-course meals that feature items like suckling pig with foie gras sausage and lobster with horseradish. While enjoying your meal, you can take in pieces by the world's leading glass artists which are throughout the restaurant.
This is something as unbelievable as a Dutch neighborhood restaurant, located in between Ullevi and the train station. It offers traditional Dutch cuisine, deep-fried dishes, some smaller courses and pancakes in a genuinely friendly Dutch atmosphere. The actual restaurant is quite simple, the walls are cluttered with Dutch curiosities. The location of the restaurant is fairly central, near Nordstan with its shopping and just a stone's throw from Ullevi, the arena where many events take place.
Stage Door is the place where actors and musicians hang out, which is shown from its name. Performing arts students also go to the restaurant, since it is not very far from Artisten, the University of Gothenburg's artistic centre. The menu offers a variety of different dishes and specialties. From Mexican food and burgers to pasta and salads. The prices are very reasonable and the premises large, so it can get pretty loud as the evening progresses, but the atmosphere is jovial.
