    Red Hook Park

    Bay Street & Colombia Street
    New York, NY 11231
    +1 212 639 9675 (City Park Council)
The story of this park is entwined with the story of the resurgence of the Red Hook community. Once a thriving port, Red Hook lost a lot of its business in the early and mid-20th Century, and the community suffered because many settlers left the area. However, by the 1970s, with government intervention, the community rose again from the ashes, and a process of redevelopment and revival began. The Red Hook Park was recognized as a community park in 1934, and has since then been a major gathering point for the community, with a range of events taking place here. Do call for more details.
