»The Beards

December 31, 2014 7:00 PM

The Beards is a comedy rock group from Adelaide, Australia, that initially formed in 2005 for a one-off show. Inspired by the crowd's warm reception to its music, the band continued to play shows and slowly collected a cult following by the time it released its eponymous debut album in 2007. Having toured extensively through Australia and made special appearances at events such as the World Beard & Moustache Championships in Alaska, The Beards has managed to maintain its balance of rock and comedy with an affinity for sarcasm and a pop sensibility.

The Southern California-based band The Growlers creates a psych-tinged dark-wave brand of surf rock that it describes as "beach goth."
