»The Freestylers With Marcus Visionary / Farbsie Funk / D-monic / DJ Qu

December 20, 2014 10:00 PM

Marcus Visionary is a jungle DJ from Toronto who has been active in the Canadian drum and bass scene since the early 1990s. Raised in a culturally and musically diverse family, he developed a passion for electronic music at a fairly early age, preferring to tinker with turntables and random instruments rather than dabble in sports or other hobbies. In 1994, he started the Prophecy radio show, which remains the longest-running drum and bass program in North America. A knack for creating highly danceable jungle beats combined with Jamaican influences and feel good vibes has kept Marcus Visionary amongst the electronic elite in Canada after all these years.

»Jesus Christ Superstar

December 20, 2014 2:00 PM

Infused with 20th-century sensibilities, Jesus Christ Superstar tells the non-Biblical story of Jesus and Judas during the last week of Jesus' life. In this modern interpretation of the Biblical accounts, Jesus is depicted human, Judas is arguably deserving of empathy and Mary Magdalene falls in love with the alleged son of God. The rock musical was first produced as a musical album before it was performed on stage. Temporarily banned by the BBC for being "sacrilegious," the album eventually made it to the number one spot on the Billboard Chart in 1971, the same year as its acclaimed Broadway debut.
