Spread across 933 acres (377.57 hectares), Brandywine Creek State Park was established in 1965. It features three nature reserves, bike trails, pavilions, an interpretive center, hiking trails, interpretive trails, picnic spots, a disc golf, nature center and a spring. Some of the activities that you can enjoy here are geocaching, canoeing, mountain biking and fishing.
It is a state park located in Delaware alongside the Brandywine Creek. Before becoming a state park, it was a dairy farm owned by Du Pont family. It contains two nature preserves - Tulip Tree Woods and Freshwater Marsh. They have several long trails including the Rocky Run Trail and the Greenways Trail. They have a Nature Center that offers natural history and environmental education, school and scout programs, and much more. It has around 933 acres (377 hectares) of land and is open year round for visits.
Delaware Park holds high-stakes races for top-flight thoroughbred and carriage horses on a one-mile oval track. Wagering on simulcast racing is available year round; the live racing season varies throughout the year. Several restaurants on premises offer both casual concessions to fine cuisine. The John Heinz National Wildlife Refuge at Tinicum is the largest freshwater tidal marsh in Pennsylvania. The mission of the refuge is to preserve the marsh, promote environmental education and provide visitors with an excellent opportunity to observe wildlife in its natural habitat. The Heinz refuge offers nature programs, environmental education workshops, field trip consultations and a resource library. All workshops, field trips and related services are offered free of charge. The Refuge is an excellent resource for birdwatchers, hikers and nature lovers.

Opened in 1916, Cobb's Creek has watered fairways, putting greens, yardage markers and a driving range that has made this course a favorite among golfers. Opened in 1916, the Karakung Golf Club is an impressively maintained facility geared toward players of moderate skill levels. Even the most casual of links men should have little difficulty negotiating the relatively short 5700-yard, par 71 course. Located within the Fairmount Park section of Philadelphia, Karakung is only about three miles away from Center City. Reservations are required at this public 18-hole course. Lessons are available.
