The DuPont Theatre is the oldest continuously operating theatre in the nation. The brightest stars of stage and screen have lit the Wilmington sky and graced the lovely Victorian stage since 1913. Known to residents of Delaware, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Maryland as "Delaware's Broadway Experience," The Playhouse presents an outstanding six-show Broadway Series, and their acclaimed Children's Series entertains and inspires more than 30,000 children per year.
This annual week long event, running for the end of may into the first week of June, allows visitors the chance to step back in time to 1764 and see what daily living was like as civilian re-enactors from across the country and Canada recreate the life of the period; one can witness a militia muster, attend a grand gala and top off the evening with music and dancing.
This six-day annual event features rides, artwork, animal exhibits, a demolition derby, contests, and more for the whole family to enjoy. Held in July.
