The Wilkes-Barre Scranton Penguins is an American Hockey League team and the top minor
league affiliate to the Pittsburgh Penguins. Founded in 1999, the team
plays its home games at the Mohegan Sun Arena at Casey Plaza in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania and
is a member of the East Division in the Eastern Conference. Kris Letang, Marc-Andre Fleury and Ryan Whitney are just a few examples of successful
players who were groomed by Wilkes-Barre Scranton before joining the NHL.
Cabinet is a bluegrass/Americana act from Scranton, Pennsylvania that claims that their music can be described with three essential bywords: soul, simplicity and serious musicianship. Indeed, the band does take its bluegrass quite seriously, and the resulting music shows that Cabinet's six members exude a genuine love for the genre with its soaring harmonies and fast moving rhythms. Since forming in 2006, Cabinet has recently begun to make a name for itself on the national stage, leading many to proclaim the Scranton band to be one of the country's most promising up-and-coming bluegrass acts.
Patent Pending is a pop punk band that was formed in Mount Sinai, New York in 2001. After getting its start playing basements and house shows around the Long Island area, the band recorded its debut EP,Meet the Fat Kids, followed by its first full-length record,The Pirate House, in 2001. The band's catchy, fast-paced music caught the attention of We Put Out Records, which signed Patent Pending and released the band's 2006 studio album, Save Each Other, the Whales Are Doing Fine. The band subsequently embarked on a national tour that included the entire 2006 Vans Warped Tour. Patent Pending has since continued to craft its pop punk sound and release albums including 2011's Second Family.
The Binghamton Senators is a professional ice hockey team based out of Binghamton, New York that competes in the American Hockey League. Founded in 1972 andoriginallybased out of New Haven,Connecticut, the team is the minor league affiliate to the NHL's Ottawa Senators, as well as the ECHL's Elmira Jackals. Having won itsfirstdivision championship in 1978, the team has distinguished itself as more than just a team that is capable of producing solid players who go on to havesuccessfulcareers in the majors.
