    Nickel Creek is an alternative country outfit that rose to recognition for its sonic tapestry of progressive bluegrass during its initial run from 1989 to 2000. After releasing six studio albums, including the 2003 Grammy Award-winning record This Side, the band went on an indefinite hiatus in 2007, when its members dispersed into solo careers. Nickel Creek reunited in 2014 with all three founding artists, rallying its dedicated following once more with a new album, titled A Dotted Line, and an extended national tour.

    Silly is a rock and band that was formed in East Germany in 1978. Led by female vocalist Tamara Danz, the band became one of the country's most popular music acts in the 1980s. After Danz's death in 1996, Silly disbanded after 14 years until 2005, when the surviving members began to perform again with several guest singers. The band eventually chose Anna Loos to front the project and released Silly's first studio album since 1996's Paradies. TitledAlles Rot, the record reinvigorated the original Silly fan base and became the band's best-selling effort to date.
