Feeling the need to incorporate live instrumentation into the world of electronic music spurred Colorado-based multi-instrumentalist Dominic Lalli to create a musical project that would be just as engaging audibly as it would be visually. When Lalli decided to bring his drummer buddy Jeremy Salken into the mix, Big Gigantic was born. Releasing its first album, Fire it Up, in 2009, the duo established itself with a style of music that combines modern free-form electro with hip-hop beats to create an intelligent variety of danceable electronic music.

    »Blitzen Trapper

    September 20, 2014 9:00 PM

The cosmos must have been aligned above Portland, Oregon at the start of the millennium because the sonic star child that was birthed from this time and place is unlike most of the other drivel-inducing bands out there. The band's name is Blitzen Trapper and it plays a uniquely soothing form of folk rock that's unintimidating and well-suited to be heard in nearly every social environment. The band's acoustic guitars and harmonica bellows blend well with lead singer Eric Earley's raspy croon and the result is an extremely enticing sound that begs for repeated listens.

    »Mike Thrasher Presents: Priory

    September 21, 2014 9:00 PM

Priory is a project born of two young artists—Brandon Rush and Kyle Sears—betting on themselves. The pair met while living in a trashy bachelor pad in their hometown of Portland, Oregon, and finding in the other kindred musical spirits. After years of juggling day jobs and courting other hobbies, they quit their day jobs and went all in, putting in the hours and the blood (quite literally selling plasma to survive), sweat, and tears to create something wholly their own. Written in a studio built from the ground up in a former cement factory, the resulting output is a unique and powerful collection of neon-lit new wave pop cut with modern rock aesthetics, led by the ebullient and catchy single, "Weekend.” It’s the sound of a band emerging triumphantly from the trials of their past and looking fearlessly into the future.$12 Advance/ $14 Day Of ShowTICKETS ARE AVAILABLE HERE:http://cascadetickets.com/event/?performer_id=1848883Copy and paste in your browser.

Fly Moon Royalty is an electro-hop/neo-soul outfit from Seattle made up of vocalist Adra Boo and producer Action Jackson. The two artists joined forces in 2010 under Sugar Water Purple but soon changed the monicker to Fly Moon Royalty. The duo's sound is strongly influenced by 1980s and 1990s Hip-hop as well as 1960s jazz and soul, while remaining rooted in electronic dance music. The result is rebellious and soulful dance music that Fly Moon Royalty captured on its 2010 self-titled album.
