The delightful, landscaped gardens with its hay fields and the eclectically furnished house complement each other well. Though there are no tours available to the lovely house, the gardens are open throughout the year.
The Paine-Dodge House was built in 1694 and is an excellent example of the First Period architecture. This charming yellow salt-box was the home of the Paines for three generations. Done up with colonial American furnishings and decorative art pieces, it is located in the scenic Greenwood Farm. Owned by the Trustees of Reservations now, guided tours are available on the first Saturday of every month. The house was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1990.
