The Detroit Historical Museum honors Detroit's place on the Underground Railroad with this special exhibition. With easy access to Canada right across the Detroit River, Detroit became an important "station" along the Underground Railroad. The exhibit gives you the opportunity to walk along the same path escaped slaves would have taken to the Detroit River with a recreated trail and to learn about the families who stayed behind in Detroit. Visit the event website for more details about the exhibit.
