Cleveland-based rapper Machine Gun Kelly is known for his machine gun-like vocal delivery, often rapping in double time to demonstrate his wordplay. Born to Shaker parents, Kelly spent much of his youth traveling with his parents on missions in Egypt, Germany and Chicago. The young rapper's meteoric rise to rap stardom has come with a series of popular mixtapes and viral YouTube videos, catching the attention of major labels. Kelly signed to Diddy's Bad Boy records in 2011, with his debut album Lace Up released the following year.
Led by New Orleans-born funk vocalist and percussionist Cyril Neville of The Meters and Texas-born blues-rock guitarist Devon Allman of The Honeytribe and The Allman Brothers Band, Royal Southern Brotherhood had an audience well before it formed in 2011. The band's all-star lineup, which also includes guitarist and vocalist Mike Zito, combines its chosen sounds to create a brand of southern rock that justifies its gaudy name. Royal Southern Brotherhood uses elements of rock and roll, soul, R&B and of course funk and blues to create its seasoned southern sound.
