Urinetown is a satirical musical production that takes on themes of privilege and human rights through an unlikely story. In the heat of a 20 year drought, a community is so short on water that private toilets are outlawed and a mega-corporation has taken control of public restrooms. Every person must pay a urinal admission or pay the price for peeing on the streets -- exile to the mysterious Urinetown. When his father is sent away for public urination, Bobby Strong steps up and starts a revolution with the idea that peeing is a human right and not a privilege.

After hard-rocker Craig Mabbitt left metalcore band Blessthefall, he started (and sang lead vocals for) The Word Alive as a side project to his other, perhaps better-known, group Escape the Fate. After bad blood and mixed messages, Mabbitt was replaced by Tyler "Telle" Smith, former bassist of the Greeley Estates. Now the rockers describe themselves as "more complete as a band" than ever, which can be heard in the confidence with which they bend, blend and push genres. The vocals switch from clean post-hardcore singing to deep, metalcore screaming with ease. Thus, after a history of band disputes and member replacements, Tyler Smith, Zach Hanson and Tony Pizzuti have established themselves as confident, settled, screaming rockers The Word Alive.
