Honeyhoney is a folk/rock duo from Venice, California. Vocalist Suzanne Santo and guitarist Ben Jaffe met when a mutual friend brought Jaffe to one of Santo's shows. They began playing music during informal jam sessions that eventually led the two musicians to write song together. Shortly after forming, Honeyhoney was discovered by Kiefer Sutherland who signed the band to his label, Ironworks Music. In early 2008, Honeyhoney released its first EP Loose Boots and went on tour with fellow Ironworks band Lifehouse. While on tour, the two slowly wrote their debut album First Rodeo, which they released later that year. The band released its highly-anticipated sophomore album Billy Jack in 2011, and followed the release with its first headlining tour across the US.

Soulfly is an American metal band that Max Cavalera, former Sepultura frontman, formed in 1997. Its sound is typically Nu Metal, coupled with Thrash Metal influences. In 1998, Soulfly released its first self-titled album. Band member turnover for Soulfly is so continuous that Cavalera claims the project is soley his own, and that his unpredictable decisions can lead to anything. So when a new Soulfly album is about to be released, you never fully know what to expect.

After forming in the late 2000s, the band crafted its inclusive but cohesive sound and captured the attention of legendary sound engineer Dave Natale, who invited the Tauk to record in his studio in 2011. The resulting debut album, Pull Factors, was released in 2012, followed by the 2013's Homunculus, an instrumental effort that showcases the Tauk's raw jam band power.
