The Whittemore Center Arena is the University of New Hampshire's state-of-the-art indoor arena, used for sporting events, trade shows and concerts. The UNH hockey team that plays here is nationally ranked.
Located on 20 beautiful acres, the old barn was turned into a dance studio and 90-seat theater. They offer theater performances, classes, an art gallery, and live music.
The two UNH theatres include a 700 seat proscenium and a 180 seat black box. Performances include theatre and dance productions, comedy, puppetry, children's theatre, and more.
Since 1969, The Stone Church has been bringing renowned performers to Newmarket and continues to do so. Celebrate Portsmouth Harbor and Great Bay at the third annual Piscataqua Waterfront Festival, a free family event. The festival features music, traditional maritime artisan demonstrations, free museum tours, hands-on children's activities, boats, booths, displays by area businesses & non-profit organizations, and a sale of heirloom plants from the Moffatt-Ladd garden. The festival is designed to heighten awareness of their maritime history, contemporary water quality issues, boat building heritage & opportunities, marine management, water recreation, and conservation.
