The 3S Artspace is a local hub for art, culture and events. Operated as a nonprofit, the center is home to an art gallery, artist studios and a local restaurant. The Music Hall is one of Portsmouth's landmark locations. Built in the 19th century, the theater hosts literary evenings, musical performances, dance,, theater, Broadway performances and more, making it an integral part of the local cultural scene. Having hosted artists and performers from Mark Twain to Gilbert and Sullivan and Patti LuPone, the theater, recently restored to its original glory in 2008, is a true must-visit while in the town.
