D'Antigua in Jackson heights has good food, a bright atmosphere for a lounge bar and often hosts live Latin bands. There is not much room on the dance floor, but the music is worthwhile.

Some of the creatively presented dishes you should try here are parihuela, causa de pollo, chicken pio, matador combo or the ensalada cesar. The special drinks are served in pot style glasses that are quite unique. Reserve a table to avoid disappointed, as the place gets crowded really soon. For special and private events, call ahead.

Central serves up Mediterranean food to New Yorkers in style. The interior is very impressive- leather banquettes, divided from the main floor by waist high glass partitions, line walls made from wide wooden panels, and in the center rests a white-padded bar. Towards the back sits a sushi bar, but the Greek food is Central's real draw, featuring, among other items, a positively delicious goat cheese salad. Outside is a lovely patio that is open during spring and summer for star-gazers and smokers. DJ's spin Greek music early in the night, then turn to European house later, as the club starts to get crowded and the bar warms up. The largely European crowd adds to the Mediterranean ambiance that Central cultivates. Food and drinks are pricey, which may discourage frequent visits, but Central is worth it, especially for a nightspot in Queens.
This recently renovated restaurant-cum-bar is located in the Queens neighborhood. Executive Chef Mina Newman brings you the best American steakhouse food, with traces of Greek cuisine. Parts of the menu tend to change regularly, as the kitchen relies heavily on seasonally available fruits and vegetables. The lemon sorbets served with meals are quite popular with the crowds. The prices are a little steep but that does not deter foodies from heading here, and parties of 20 to 80 people can be accommodated at a time. Valet Parking is available. For further information, check the website or call for details.
Mumbai Grill's Sweets Shop is nestled in the city of New York. It is not for the health conscious, but for those who savor fried vegetarian Indian bhajias, rich sweets and everything that is not calorie constrained, they will not be disappointed. You will find fresh, delicious onion, potatoes and peas bhajias, samosas and more for just above USD 2.
Arepa Lady is managed by Maria Piedad Cano who operates this stall only on weekends after 10p. A former judge and lawyer, Maria decided to open this joint only at nights because there are lesser cops manning the streets and will be less of a hindrance. For the night birds in Jackson Heights this is a great place to buy yourself an appetizing grub to satiate those odd-hour hunger pangs. The Arepas prepared by her are in the traditional Colombian style; made of corn batter that is nice and crispy on the outside and has a rich creamy cheese on the inside. Next time you are in the neighborhood do look around for Maria and her Arepa Cart.
Jackson Diner is a diner in name only. It actually is a wonderful Indian restaurant that features excellent food at ridiculously low prices. The kitchen mostly focuses on delicacies from Northern India and the Punjab region. The extensive menu includes tikkas, masalas, tandooris and vindaloos. There are also plenty of vegetarian dishes, so there is definitely something for anyone who likes Indian cuisine. There is another location located in the West Village right near NYU on University Place and 11th.
Alcohol is not served here, as Sabry's operates with a strict Muslim tradition, that means carrying your own alcohol is also a strict no-no as well. That however, should not put you off from visiting the place because if you don't, you're going to be missing out on some great seafood. The decor leaves a lot to be desired but again that is not the eatery's strong point. Once the dishes made of calamari, octopus and shrimp arrive, just allow yourself to be impressed by the authentic Egyptian cooking. Back it up with the always oven-fresh pita bread. Definitely worth a try.
Piccola Venezia one of the most notable Italian restaurants in Queens. Warm and attentive service, excellent food and an attractive decor all serve to make it a favorite with locals and visitors alike. Antipasti include the house combination of seafood and stuffed mushroom caps, as well as jumbo shrimp, calamari and salmon tartare. The fish dishes, veal and the lamb are all splendid; but the pasta choices are the real standouts, including the amazing gnocchi. There is plenty of room in this attractive trattoria for large parties.
