Adapted from Gregory Maguire's novel of the same name, Wicked re-tells the story of The Wizard of Oz from the point of view of Elphaba and Glinda, two ofthe witches of Oz. According to this version of the famous story, the wicked witch of the west is a misunderstood character whose complex childhood and dramatic history with several of the story's beloved characters, particularly the Wizard of Oz himself, have attributed to her "wicked" reputation. Written primarily for adults, Wicked raises questions about our contemporary ethical standards.
When Wolfmother burst on the scene with its eponymous debut LP in 2005, the group was widely considered to be one of the preeminent bands of its generation. Hailing from Australia, Wolfmother prided itself on a retro rock sound that begged for comparisons to many acts that were born out of the '60s psychedelic scene. Though Wolfmother experienced a drastic line-up change after its big break (singer/guitarist Andrew Stockdale is the only original member), the group (or possibly more accurate: Stockdale and His Hired Guns) still soldiers on to the admiration of eager followers.

In Rodgers and Hammerstein's beloved musical, themes of racial prejudice were taken on with atypical candor for its 1949 debut year. The show follows the interweaving stories of the native and enlisted population on a Polynesian island in the middle of World Ward II. The lush musical score features now internationally renowned staples of the musical canon. Considered by many to be the greatest musical of all time, South Pacific won all 10 Tony award nominations from the year of its original production.
