Wat Prachumthat forms a tripartite relationship with the more famous Wat Machimmaram Buddhist temple and the lesser known Pikulyai temple. Historically, these three were placed under the protection of the Thai King's soldiers during the Japanese occupation of Malaysia. Wat Prachumthat is a three century old building with spacious grounds. A beautifully decorated prayer hall and a 20-metre-tall pagoda are currently being built. The latter will house a statue of Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva, or Earth Store Bodhisattva. The surrounding walls will be built with cubicles to house the ash remains of those cremated.
The Erie Land Light also popularly known as the Old Presque Isle Light is a beautiful lighthouse located at the banks of the Lake Erie. This 48 feet 10 inches conical sandstone tower is a beauty with a one level structure attached to it.The 8 feet wide from within structure that consists of a spiral iron staircase leads one to the top of the tower which overlooks the Erie River from the balcony. Today the light house stands as a historic beauty to the locals and the tourists.
