    Philadelphia, PA 19123
A truly all-star collection of artists are primed to perform at the finale of OutBeat, the first-ever LGBT jazz festival in the U.S. Among them are trailblazing gay vocalist Andy Bey, two-time Grammy-winning drummer and bandleader Terri Lyne Carrington, singer-composer Patricia Barber and many more, who'll take the stage at Union Transfer, recently named by "Rolling Stone" as one of the "Top 20 Music Venues in America." Each of these ground-breakers bring stellar credentials to the show. Carrington recently became the first female artist ever to win a Grammy in the Best Jazz Instrumental album category, for her 2013 release, "Money Jungle: Provocative In Blue". Bey's singing career kicked off in the '60s, and has enjoyed a revival since the '90s. His latest disc is 2013's "The World According to Andy Bey", and Barber is a Guggenheim Fellow for songwriting, who's known for her eclectic mix of originals, standards and pop. She recently released an album salute to Cole Porter. In addition, the area around the venue will host a selection of Philly's finest food carts, crafters, local musicians and other merchants. Please see the full event description for the scheduled artist lineup.

The stuffy Elomire and the foppish Valere struggle for power in a royal court-sponsored theater troupe in the hit comedy "La Bête". Arden favorite Scott Greer, one of Philadelphia's most gifted comedic actors, plays the starring role in this revival and award-winning director Emmanuelle Delpech takes the helm. A modern comedy written in iambic pentameter, the plot was inspired by real-life 17th-century French playwright and actor Molière. Playwright David Hirson's 1991 comedy has enjoyed runs on Broadway and in London's West End.

Think you know the consequences of smoking? Think again, as none of the familiar outcomes are as amazing, heart-breaking, hilarious and tragic as those pending a character's decision on whether or not to light up in "Intimate Exchanges". A cross between live theater and a grown-up "Choose Your Own Adventure" novel, "Intimate Exchanges" is a marathon multiple-choice drama, a cascade of 16 potential outcomes flowing from a single decision dictated by the audience. Two actors -- Jennifer Childs and Tony Lawton -- play eight possible roles in this ingenious and involving play from Sir Alan Ayckbourn, the Tony-winning playwright with more than 40 West End and Broadway smashes to his credit. Now Mary Carpenter directs a fresh, ever exciting take from 1812 Productions.
