The elegant El Malpais National Monument is situated in Western New Mexico, in Southwestern United States. The distinguished National Monument occupies a whooping 114,276 acres (46,246 hectares) of land cover. It was actively established on December 31, 1987 and pulls in great crowds all year round. The 2011 statistics speak up for the annual number of visitors as 105,356. The monument swanks of some of the oldest Douglas Fir trees on the planet. It has many lava tube caves that are accessible to view and tour through.
