»The Plough

The Plough welcomes visitors into West Drayton, the first building on the road through this quaint grassy hamlet. The stark white building stands out against the verdant backdrop of a tree-lined motorway, creating a lovely aesthetic in which to enjoy a few pints on the spacious patio outside. The interior, while a tad small, retains all of the exterior charm, dark wooden accents creating a classic pub vibe that transports guests back to the area's original idyll. Of course, no classic pub would be complete without fish and chips, and The Plough serves up one of the largest portions in the region for roughly GBP 9, quite the bargain considering the premium a place like this could charge. A smattering of Indian fare is on the menu as well, but the pints and scenery are the real draw at this cozy pub.

»The King William IV

The King William IV provides a unique opportunity for guests to enjoy a traditional pub atmosphere in a 16th-century hall house currently listed as a Grade II listed building. This lovingly cared-for pub has preserved the architecture of a typical inn of its time, dark wooden accents and exposed beams creating a rustic ambiance that matches the pub's "real ale," ale that has not been pasteurized or filtered and retains all the original body of the brew. The only area of King William's operation that is not decidedly medieval is the food selection, the menu consisting largely of Thai food that, by all accounts, is some of the most phenomenal in the area. Of course there's the standard set of British pub grub, although these offerings fell surprisingly flat when compared to the Asian dishes on offer. Perfect for visitors to the area's numerous hotels, King William IV is a charming old-English sight that also boasts an eclectic fare of dinner options.
