Covering an area of approximately 6 square kilometers (inclusive of marine portion), Skanörs Ljung comprises of important geographical and historical elements like ancient pasture lands and monuments belonging to prehistoric times. It is a habitat for exotic plants and birds and was given the status of natural reserve in 1969.
