The eminent First Unitarian Church of Hobart boasts of being the foremost Unitarian Church in Indiana. The church site was constructed in 1875 and is a fine example of the Italianate style of architecture. It welcomes varied people and strives to worship, spread faith and love for Jesus.

A grand and imposing towering megastructure with ornate columns and pillars, the Knights of Columbus Building in Gary, Indiana is a ten-story historic building showcasing Gothic style architecture with contemporary brickwork. Over the years, the building has served as a clubhouse, a hotel, a sports facility and a restaurant, since its inception in 1925. It has been on the list of the National Register of Historic Places since 1984.
Taltree Arboretum & Gardens, a natural inspiration, is a 300-acre reserve of woody plant collections, gardens, flowers and natural areas.
Built back in 1875, the Josephus Wolf House is a Victorian Italianate Mansion. Its enormous area spreads across 4500 acres (1800 hectares). It consists of 18 rooms featuring red oak flooring. The house has distinct features. A prime facet is the front veranda on the west region. In the interiors, The Great Room is a distinctive highlight which covers the entire width of the house. It is a great venue for private functions. The managers provide a tour of the house and the outdoor setting which includes tents, chairs and tables.

Mike Floyd, an avid beer enthusiast, along with his sons, Simon and Nick, established 3 Floyds Brewing Co. in 1996. An adjoining brewpub offers guests freshly brewed beers on tap, along with an array of delicious pub fares. The Dark Lord Day festival, revolving around the eponymous beer, is an annual event at 3 Floyds; it is the only day where visitors can purchase the 3 Floyds' special; Russian Stout. Though located in Munster, Indiana, this brewery is barely a 40-minute drive away from Chicago.
This department is responsible for 19 different park lands representing both community and neighborhood parks and also diverse, year-round program opportunities for all ages. Be sure to visit the botanical garden. Ogden Gardens is four acres of flowerbeds with an adjoining ten acres of picnic areas. Included are a Japanese garden with a koi pond, and a wedding gazebo. Flowerbeds include annual and perennial displays as well as spring bulbs and flowering trees.
Family amusement type facility featuring two 18 hole miniature golf courses, batting cages, go-karts, an indoor arcade, live alligators, lighted golf driving range, a Wild Wave Slide, and a snack shop.
These two properties are maintained by the Indian Dunes National Lakeshore. Bailly Homestead was the home of one of Porter County's earliest settlers, French-Canadian voyageur and fur trader Joseph Bailly. Chellberg Farm is an early 20th century, 80 acre working farm established in 1874 by Swedish immigrants Anders and Johanna Kjellberg.

Valparaiso's Immanuel Lutheran Church had its beginnings in 1862, when a number of German families founded the congregation, and the structure itself was erected in 1891. Added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1982, the church organizes various charitable events throughout the year.
