Whether Louisianans have fled their rural homes in the aftermath of raging flood waters, or in pursuit of better economic opportunities, Houston and Louisiana are often considered to be kindred spirits.   The mission of the Houston Creole Festival and Mardi Gras Parade celebration, is to preserve and celebrate Creole history; including its unique fusion of African, French, Native American and Spanish cultures.  In addition, we plan to welcome and celebrate with those who have decided to relocate to the Bayou City. We invite you to come out and enjoy three days filled with family-oriented, Creole-inspired food, music and frivolity. Join us:

Gregory Alan Isakov headlines a show at Warehouse Live in Houston. With a sound reminiscent of Leonard Cohen, Iron and Wine and other subtle singer-songwriters, the South African native has shared the stage with Ani DiFranco, Fiona Apple, Calexico and more. Born in Johannesburg, South Africa, and now calling Colorado home, Isakov has been traveling all his life, collecting images, sounds and words that form the music he writes with such lyricism and soul. Opening the show will be Canadian folk singer Leif Vollebekk.
