The First Presbyterian Church is a historic church, previously called the Russell Sage Memorial Church. In 1888, Mrs. Olivia Slocum Sage, the wife of late philanthropist Russell Sage, commissioned this church in memory of her husband. Renowned architect Ralph Adams Cram designed this Neo-Gothic landmark in an iconic cruciform plan. Its highlight is the striking stained-glass painting on the southern-most wall of the church created by Louis Tiffany. Exquisite architecture as well as the design of its surrounding landscape has earned it a mention on the National Register of Historic Places. This Far Rockaway beauty is sure to mesmerize you.
