Located in Ottawa and owned by Terry Matthews, The Marshes Golf Club is a public golf club that is adjacent to Brookstreet Hotel. Designed by Robert Trent Jones, this golf course offers the business community of Silicon Valley an excellent golfing experience along with the blue lakes and the Gatineau Hills in the backdrop. They follow strict dress codes for playing the game, and offer coaching as well. Other than hosting amateur championships, this club has also hosted the Canadian PGA Senior's Championship.
The Andrew Haydon Park is situated along the banks of the scenic Ottawa River in the city of Ottawa, Ontario. A public skatepark in Ottawa, Ontario, the Legacy Skatepark spans across an area of 1700 square meters (18,300 square feet), making it one of the largest in the city. The Capital City Speedway is located in the capital city of Ottawa. This stock car racetrack consists of a drag-strip and a 0.60-kilometer (3/8th mile) oval. This large pavilion at the edge of the Canal Rideau's picturesque Dows Lake offers relaxation and recreation. Two restaurants with large patios offer casual food, drinks and a wonderful view, while a full-service marina offers fuel, pump out and slip rentals. In winter, the lake becomes part of the Canal Rideau skating rink and the pavilion rents a variety of winter sports equipment, including skates, sleighs and cross-country skis. During the summer, the marina rents canoes, paddleboats and inline skates.
The Plant Bath was constructed in 1924 along with the Champagne Bath to provide a bath to those of the working class who did not have private baths at their homes. With decline in usage, the bath was completely renovated and rebuilt and was opened as a recreation center in 2004. Today, the center offers a number of facilities such as a swimming pool and swimming lessons, a gymnasium, aerobic classes, skating and much more.
