Shillings on the Square is an upscale dining spot in suburban Marietta catering to a well-heeled clientele that appreciates exquisite continental dishes in a charming setting. The antiquated building faces Marietta Square, the picturesque, historic seat of Cobb County. Sip a glass from the fine wine selections while listening to classical piano music tinkling in from the bar. Favorites include the steaks, enormous salads and the occasional traditional regional item. Proper attire is required and reservations are strongly recommended. This restaurant is open daily and also has weekend brunches.
Since opening Marietta's historic square, La Famiglia has become a family favorite for Italian dining. A small store-front hides a narrow room with mirrors along the right wall. White tablecloths line the sparse tables, with music tuned soft to provide the perfect unobtrusive undertone. The Veal Scaloppine is very good, served in white wine with fresh lemon juice, artichokes and capers. A wide menu of traditional selections is also well prepared. A growing wine list, currently with 12 selections, has been carefully chosen, and Italian Peroni Beer is available.
These folks know something about creating an island setting. The interior is island rich, with dark wood walls, a long bar, and tables arranged for dining or mingling. Outside, tables with umbrellas line the cobble stoned alley, offering great open air dining. Much more of a restaurant than bar, Hemingway's Bar & Grill puts out consistently good food for lunch and dinner.
Quaint location featuring a Cafe serving homemade soups, salads, sandwiches and desserts. Award- winning dessert for Taste of Marietta. Catering, tea parties, private parties, etc. with a scenic view of The Marietta Square. Main floor features an adorable gift shop selling vintage products, loose-leaf tea & tea accessories, trendy jewelry, stationery, cards, keepsakes, and one-of-a-kind finds.
Once a fire station and then a bank, this historic Marietta site has been converted into MacCracken's, an Irish pub with two bars, a bustling front dining room, cozy lounging rooms and outdoor dining in a courtyard. The old bank vault is still there, though now it holds beer instead of money. Beer selections include the traditional pub choices of Guinness, Bass, Bodington's and others, but it's the food that draws crowds. Corned beef and cabbage, shepherd's pie, fish and chips, and even a full Irish breakfast are included on the menu. Expect live entertainment on the weekends, usually in the form of Celtic folk rock.

One of the special things about dining in Atlanta is the mild climate. Loads of restaurants take advantage of this benefit, offering outdoor dining for most of the year, and Taco Mac is no exception. The interior is festooned with TVs for catching up with your favorite sports. Meal time here offers a good mix of people, and later, the bar crowd tends to gravitate towards 20s and 30s. Known for their beer (a distinct collection of rare and known beers from all over the globe) and Buffalo style chicken wings, it has been a local favorite for long now. Don't be deceived by the name; they do serve tacos but that's the only connection.
The laid-back attitude at El Ranchero creates a great atmosphere for fine, affordable dining. You'll feel as though you've stepped into an old desert cantina, whether nestled in a booth in the back room, or front and center at a table near the door. Enjoy the dim, cool environment with a margarita from the bar while you wait for your order. With most entrees being easy to the pocket, you can afford to treat the crowd once in a while. Great frijoles and fajitas headline a menu of authentic Mexican winners.
