Daniel Castro Band
Highway 99 Blues ClubApril 18, 2015 8:00 PM
1414 Alaskan Way
Seattle, WA 98101
Just because you can play an instrument doesn't mean you can play the blues. The blues require more than musical knowledge. They demand a quality of character, a depth of feeling you either have or you don't. Daniel Castro has that something. An accomplished guitarist with a strong musical point of view, Castro has the technical chops and then some. But what draws you to his newest group, the Daniel Castro Band, is the absolute abandon with which Castro performs, the outpouring of anguish and ecstasy which is the hallmark of a truly great bluesman. Be there as this incredible trio is sure to "leave it all on the stage" during a night of blistering solos, soulful singing and tight arrangements at Highway 99 Blues Club. R&B stalwart Billy Stoops opens with his new project, Billy Stoops & The Dirt Angels.

Roger Clyne & The Peacemakers
Chop SueyApril 18, 2015 9:00 PM
1325 East Madison
Seattle, WA 98122
Formed in 1998, Roger Clyne & the Peacemakers is an alternative rock band from Tempe, Arizona that is probably best known for its song that appears during the opening credits of the widely popular Mike Judge created animated TV show King of the Hill. With a sound that blends guitar driven rock with a twangy, Texas blues sonic ethos, the Peacemakers have managed to carve out a fairly respectable niche for itself in the multifaceted modern day music scene. Though the band hasn't found a sizable commercial following, it has nevertheless stayed true to its roots and hasn't disappointed its early and dedicated fan base.
