Beanie Sigel
Theatre of Living Arts (TLA)December 18, 2014 9:30 PM
334 South Street
Philadelphia, PA 19147
Beanie Sigel is a Philadelphia-based rapper who first achieved success after he released his debut LP, The Truth, in 2000 on Jay-Z's imprint Roc-A-Fella Records. The album highlighted Sigel's manic rhyming style and coupled with astute production on behalf of notables like Kanye West, Just Blaze and Buckwild, the songs managed to resonate well with individuals who were looking for interesting hip-hop listening material. Though Sigel has experienced career ups and downs, as well as feuds with other rapers and appearances in a few films, he has managed to remain a talented lyricist who's capable of creating intelligent and fairly provocative songs.

The Sweetback Sisters' Country Christmas Singalong Spectacular
Sellersville Theater 1894December 18, 2014 8:00 PM
Main & Temple Streets
Sellersville, PA 18960
Brooklyn-based band The Sweetback Sisters may be located in the indie rock hotbed, but the group is more accurately placed in the musical climate of 1950s and 60s south. Re-imagining the sounds of honky tonk, bluegrass and country of yore, the band is known for their extremely loyal renditions of country classics, as well as their uncanny, vintage-sounding original material. The Sweetback Sisters have been on heavy rotation for listeners of NPR and WNYC, even having the honor to play for a live recording of the Prairie Home Companion. You can find the group on tour with major country and bluegrass festivals through out the Midwest and South, as well as playing at a raucous theater or bar just outside of your hometown.
