Lacey V. Murrow Memorial Bridge

Murrow Memorial Bridge is the long bridge, spanning a length of 6620 feet (2020 meters), connecting Seattle city center to Mercer Island, running over the Lake Washington. This bridge, was originally constructed and opened to the public in 1940, thanks to the efforts of George Lightfoot, who is also known as the 'father of the bridge'. In November 1990, disaster hit this bridge, when it collapsed and sunk to the bottom of the lake. However, a couple of years later, it was rebuilt and was brought into use once again. This bridge runs parallel to Homer M. Hadley Memorial Bridge.
