    »Here Come The Mummies

    October 22, 2014 8:00 PM

Funk collective Here Come the Mummies began blending evident instrumental skill with a hefty dose of kitsch upon forming in 2000. The 12 band members dress as mummies while performing and keep their identities a secret, sticking to their stage names and back stories as Egyptian mummies unearthed in an underground disco club thousands of years after their burial. There are rumors that the band members keep their identities secret because they are signed exclusively with various record labels for other projects, and this is a believable story, as the the band possesses a good deal of talent. The Nashville-based group performs across the country with a tongue-in-cheek sense of humor and entertaining live show.

    »The Rainmaker

    October 22, 2014 7:30 PM

The Stage launches its new season with a longtime stage favorite, "The Rainmaker" -- a show filled with romance, drama, humor and even a little magic. The story revolves around farm girl Lizzie, whose marriage prospects and dreams of escape are as dry as her family's drought-ridden farm, despite the best efforts of her dad and brothers. Enter the fast-thinking, smooth-talking "rainmaker" Starbuck, who seems to offer the answer to all their problems -- for a price -- but whose interaction with Lizzie allows her to see herself in a surprising new light. First debuting on Broadway in 1954, N. Richard Nash's funny and poignant American classic shows the power of hope over hardship.

    »The Lettermen

    October 23, 2014 7:30 PM

Formed in 1959, The Lettermen is one of the last visages of the once popular all male vocal groups. Performing at packed concert halls during its heyday, in glamorously vintage cities like Las Vegas, Miami and Atlantic City, The Lettermen managed to build an impressive reputation for itself as one of the more vocally talented groups of its generation. Despite having aged quite significantly over its decades long existence, the member of The Lettermen have matured like a fine red wine and are in surprisingly good vocal form.
