Come here to experience cabaret in the most traditional sense, complete with showgirls in sequined costumes with legs that seem to go on forever, dancing the cancan, as well as charming singers. The bar is situated just outside Marseille. Think champagne and Moulin Rouge. With a quality menu and rollerblade service, this place is really something else!
A very good small restaurant in Cassis, located in the pedestrian streets of town, 100 meters (328 feet) from the port. The cuisine is Italian inspired: La Stazione serves very good pasta (Brousse cheese cannelloni, spaghetti with lobster) and great pizzas (the roquette/parme is a tasty must-try); the tomato sauce the chef makes is delicious! The restaurant also serves appetizers, meats, risotto and very nice desserts. We can t forget the great wines. In short, there are many good things on the menu, and for varying budgets. La Stazione is a bit noisy, more used to a younger crowd than families. It is difficult to get around with a stroller for example; the tables are quite close together. Part of the restaurant opens out on the street-side terrace.
Au bureau ("At the Office") is a chain of restaurants. It s sort of like a bar with a lounge feel to it, decorated like an old English pub with club chairs and large flat TV-screens. The draft beers are good and the house cocktails are excellent. There are many, many things on the menu, with very diverse dishes: meat, fish, burgers, pizzas, tapas… There is something for every taste bud. The prices are very reasonable! But you get what you pay for: this is not a place to expect haute cuisine... The staff is very friendly. Some nights are themed (singles, karaoke…) - P.Wicki
At lunch time, this restaurant's veranda is packed, so it is advisable to arrive before noon in order to take advantage of the delicious, home-cooked local food. You will have a choice of four starters, four main meals and three desserts from the (EUR8.39) set menu. You will also be able to enjoy a 1/4 bottle of red or rosé wine, courgette fritters and lamb moussaka or kebab. The terrace offers a panoramic view of the fishing port. You will receive a very warm welcome from the owners of this restaurant.
Since 1895, this address delights the town's gastronomy, especially amateurs of seafood and fish. On the small port of Estaque, this restaurant serves classic fare: fish soup, garlic mayonnaise and grilled fennel fish. The justice of cooking, the precision of the liaison and of sauces and the splendid homemade tiramisu gives this address the guarantee of a good time. A very nice liquor menu is also available.
Don't be misled by the simple facade of this roadside inn; step inside and you'll be welcomed by the warm-hearted Lani family. But the magic really starts when the food appears on the table. The creative dishes are made from top quality produce and the menus bear such charming names as Léa, Natacha and Julia. Dishes like croustillant millefeuille de brandade de morue (melt-in-the mouth pastries filled with cod, garlic, olive oil and cream), suprême de pigeon à la gousse (pigeon with garlic cloves served in its own juice) and magnificent desserts are just a selection of what is available. The wine list has a selection of regional choices like the Château Simone.

Right in the center of the village of Gémenos, the Fer à Cheval Restaurant combines simplicity and gastronomy. Set up in the former stables of a 17th-century castle, this fine dining restaurant has maintained a unique and rustic setting. The Fer à Cheval serves various dishes, à la carte or full meals - including very good meats, perfectly roasted over a wood fire in the dining room's fireplace. The side dishes are hearty, and the desserts are homemade. The restaurant s personnel is pleasantly distinguished and discreet, the bill is usually very reasonable, with good value for money. The Fer à Cheval welcomes all sorts of events (birthday, wedding, baptism parties, business comities...) - P.Wicki
Offering far eastern dishes ranging from standard spring rolls and Peking duck to the more unusual Bo-Bun, this city centre restaurant's impressive menu is hard to beat in terms of value for money. Renowned for its high standard of cuisine, the restaurant is always packed, which might mean having to queue for a table. Great food served in warm, friendly surroundings - and well worth the wait.
Brasserie le Grand Escalier is a nice and cozy place to get some homemade-style cuisine. Reminiscent of an American diner, the specials change every day, and you can sit at cushioned booths while you enjoy the dinner or people-watch out the large windows. The restaurant is located right next to the train station, so it's a great spot to hit before or after a train ride. The service is friendly and accommodating with very reasonable prices. Check this place out for a laid back meal.
Chez Etienne is a Marseille institution that can be tough to find, but is very much worth seeking out. Specializing in pizza and other Italian dishes, Chez Etienne is great for families. Open for both lunch and dinner.
