Performing in the Newton-Conover Civic & Performance Place, this award-winning community theater presents five mainstage productions each season that consists of dramas, musicals, comedies, and children's plays.
Playing in the Coastal Plain League, The Gastonia Grizzlies are Gaston County's local semi-professional baseball team. Home games are played at the Buddy Lewis Field at Sims Legion Park in Gastonia, NC. Their first season in the league was in 2002 and they finished first in the West Division with a record of 14 wins and 9 losses. Known for their outrageous promotions and contests. \
A repertoire of classical and contemporary dance works by various choreographers are performed throughout the year by this dance group that also offers professional, high quality dance training classes.
The oldest professional sporting venue in Catawba County and the oldest continually operating motor speedway in the country, this speedway features Late Model Stock Car racing and includes three fully equipped concession stands, a souvenir stand, a game room, and a children's fenced-in play area.
