    »Murry's Dinner Playhouse

    Fun for the whole family, Murray's Dinner Playhouse is a popular Little Rock entertainment venue. Open since 1967 under various names, Murray's serves up great laughs and stellar cuisine six days a week. Shows range from light-hearted comedies like 'Til Beth Do Us Part and classics like Steel Magnolias and South Pacific. The cuisine is highly influenced by whatever show is in production, so expect to see a different buffet each time. Whether you're visiting with the whole family or with a significant other, Murray's Dinner Playhouse is sure to entertain.

    »Willow Springs

    Willow Springs is one of the Little Rock area's main water park attractions. This spring-fed lake has treated water and sandy bottoms, as well as various water features that add to the excitement. There is a 400 foot water slide, log rolls and water trampolines and even water basketball, volleyball and tetherball. On the shores, take advantage of the picnic areas and snack bars. There are always lifeguards on duty, and swimming lessons are offered for free during the month of July.

    »Boyle Park

    Boyle Park is a 250-acre (101-hectare) urban park located in Little Rock. It is named after Dr. John F. Boyle who donated the land to the City of Little Rock in the year 1929. It features various known intact examples of the famous Civilian Conservation Corps rustic architecture. The park is mostly unimproved woodland consisting of a small pond, a playground, open meadows, woods, hiking and biking trails. The park also has the Rock Creek flowing across it.

    »Little Rock Zoo

    The Little Rock Zoo is the wildest place in town. With over 500 different species on display, the zoo is home to exotic tigers, lemurs, tortoises and elephants. Children will want to visit Kiddieland and take a small train to ride around the park. The Zoo Café, located within the park, serves hot dogs, nachos and cold drinks. Open daily.

    »Little Rock Central High School National Historic Site

    Located in Little Rock, the Little Rock Central High School National Historic Site is run in partnership with Little Rock public schools and the National Park Service. It has a visitor center that displays a film commemorating the Little Rock Integration Crisis that gained national attention in 1957. It also has various exhibits centered around the Civil Rights Movement. Apart from this, there is a garden which has nine trees planted in honor of the Little Rock 9, who were at the center of the Little Rock Integration Crisis. Entry is free and guided tours are available on prior booking. Check the website for more information.

    »Arkansas Governor's Mansion

    Built with over 300,000 bricks salvaged from other buildings, the Arkansas Governor's Mansion was completed in 1950. This grand Georgian colonial mansion sits on 8 pristine acres (3 hectares) of manicured herb gardens maintained by the National Herb Society. Visitors can partake in guided tours on Tuesday and Thursday and must be scheduled one day in advance. The tours are completely free and include a visit to all rooms deemed public.

    The Thomas R. McGuire House is located at Little Rock, Arkansas. It was built between the year 1905 C.E and 1915 C.E by architect Thomas R. McGuire. It had a concrete block construction and was made from handcrafted and locally manufactured materials. This property got added to the National Registrar of Historic Places on December 19, 1991.

    This city park has something for every member of the family, from picnic tables to tennis courts and a playground. There are two full-sized basketball courts located under the shade (and noise) of Interstate 630. Basketball games take place from early in the morning until after dark. A special feature of this park is the skate park complete with bowl. It is colorfully decorated with graffiti art, and is open to anyone daring enough to "take the plunge."

    »Testament- Little Rock Nine Memorial

    Dubbed the 'Little Rock Nine' for being the first nine African American students to attend Little Rock Central High School after segregation was ruled unconstitutional in 1954, this statue depicts the brave individuals fighting for their civil liberties. As the only civil rights memorial located on any of the State Capitol grounds in the South, the statue features plaques with the students names and a brief comment from them. Symbolically opening the doors of segregation in America, this moving testament is a must visit.

    »Hillcrest Historic District

    Just west of Downtown Little Rock lies the popular and historic neighborhood of Hillcrest. On the National Register of Historic Places, Hillcrest was established at the end of the 19th Century and continued to grow throughout the beginning of the 20th Century and beyond. One main characteristic of the area is the wide variety of interesting and aesthetically pleasing architectural styles of the homes. Within the Hillcrest Historic District are landmarks like Little Rock's former town hall. Hillcrest in recent years has become a hub of entertainment as well with numerous bars, restaurants, shops and galleries, among other things.
