    July 30, 2014 2:30 PM

Adapted from Gregory Maguire's novel of the same name, Wicked re-tells the story of The Wizard of Oz from the point of view of Elphaba and Glinda, two ofthe witches of Oz. According to this version of the famous story, the wicked witch of the west is a misunderstood character whose complex childhood and dramatic history with several of the story's beloved characters, particularly the Wizard of Oz himself, have attributed to her "wicked" reputation. Written primarily for adults, Wicked raises questions about our contemporary ethical standards.

»Ritzy Art Launch: Thornbury Road Portrait Exhibition

    July 30, 2014 8:00 PM

A collection of 30 stylised portraits of residents living in Thornbury Road; a typical Victorian terraced street overlooked by Brixton Prison, London, SW2. Proud of living on a sociable street where everyone knows everyone else, and fascinated by the contrasting lives lived by their neighbours behind the seemingly similar facades, local photographer Jamie Lancaster and his partner, Sophie Broadbent (with the help of their two young children) shot these intimate images of their friends and neighbours in 2013. The portraits are a snapshot of the diversity and range of households and personalities co-existing on any London street and are a fascinating and captivating insight into the Brixton community. From single dads to great-grandmothers, large sets of housemates and diverse family groups, all are included here in this microcosm of the richness of Brixton’s neighbourhood life.
