After its stint of more than 25 years at the York Way studios in King Cross, the London Studio Centre has found shelter in North Finchley's awesome arts hub known as Artsdepot. The center was founded in 1978 and has been a premier education and training center in professional theater and dance, where the focus is on training students by providing various opportunities for performances. The Artsdepot's twin theaters not just serve as rehearsal spaces for the students, but are also host to their events. The Sternberg Centre for Judaism located in Finchley, London hosts a number of Jewish Institutions including a synagogue, a school and a college for the training of rabbis. St John, Friern Barnet began its life as a temporary iron structure built in 1883 and intended to serve as a chapel of ease. Although the construction of the existing building began in 1890, the death of the architect and shortage of funds led to delay after delay, so that the church was only completed in 1911.
