Princess Particular

The Secret Theatre presents "Princess Particular", a new children's musical. The spirited and feisty young princess is used to getting what she wants, when she wants it. And today she wants to be a ballerina. King Loadsadough and Queen Bea are way too distracted to deal with such trivialities. Fortunately, her four maids and the Chancellor and Lady in Waiting are on hand to help make the royal fussbudget's dream come true! With lots of fun tunes and hilariously broad physical comedy, this delightful new show by Richard Mazda is great for the whole family.

See not one, not two, but "seven" improv teams perform spontaneous acts of comedy at The Queen's Secret Improv Club's Friday night feature "A Fullish Deck". Or, come Saturday for "PopUp Musicals", a musical improv showcase hosted by a different team each week. As one of New York's premiere musical improv troupes, Petting Zoo and their invited guest teams perform show-stopping show tunes that you'll never believe are made up on the spot... and yet, they are. With high-caliber hilarity like that week in and week out, it's no wonder Queen's Secret Improv Club is helping turn Long Island City into the area's next comedy capitol.

Former members of the hardcore bands Some Girls and The Plot to Blow Up the Eiffel Tower came together in 2008 to create the garage rock band Crocodiles. Although a duo on paper, the band’s live shows include a drummer, keyboardist and bassist who all add depth to its sound, a 1980s ballad and 1960s girl punk-inspired blend of krautrock, psychedelic rock, doo wop and indie pop. While the duo's music is much more melodic and less angsty than its members' previous bands, Crocodiles has been known to use bizarre and often morbid lyrics, especially on their 2010 studio album, Sleep Forever.
