With an area of 13,801 square feet, the Council Fire Ballroom is one of the biggest event centers in the city of Cherokee. E. J. Whitmire Stadium is a plush multi-purpose arena located on the campus of Western Carolina University that is a haven of sorts for all sports buffs. Built in 1974, the stadium is home to many of the University's football and athletic teams. The stadium is well facilitated with comfortable seats offering unobstructed views, a press box, locker rooms, practice facilities and so on. Many tournaments, leagues and varsity fixtures are played here.
Ramsey Regional Activity Center or the Liston B. Ramsey Regional Activity Center is part of the Western Carolina University and is a plush multi-purpose arena. The arena is a meeting place of sorts for all the sports and recreational buzz in the campus. It can hold around 8000 people and provides many sports facilities. There are many basketball courts, jogging tracks, racket ball courts, skateboard facilities and so on. Events here include convocations, concerts, sports tournaments, matches and so on.
