Hailing from Dublin, Celtic Woman is a five-piece female vocal group that banded together in 2004. Though members have come and gone, the band has molded seamlessly between different lineups and with additional touring members by focusing on its repertoire of traditional and modern tunes. Though the concept of five women singing traditional folk music while dressed in ballgowns sounds a bit over-the-top, Celtic Woman is centered on talent without gimmicks. The group has reached audiences beyond Ireland and earned critical acclaim for its world music in entertainment juggernauts like the US.
