The Colonials is the moniker of the athletic teams and departments of Robert Morris University in Moon Township, Pennsylvania. A member of the NCAA Division I, the school competes in the Northeast Conference with the exception of its women's and men's ice hockey teams, which compete in the College Hockey America and the Atlantic Hockey conferences, respectively.
The Youngstown State Penguins represents the athletic programs and
intercollegiate teams of Youngstown State University in Youngstown, Ohio. An NCAA Division I member, the university competes in the Horizon League and the Missouri Valley Football Conference. The university also fields a men's ice hockey team, which is a member of the American Collegiate Hockey Association. Youngstown maintains a strong track and field program, with the women's squad winning multiple Horizon League championships over the years. Other men's and women's programs sponsored by the school include basketball, football, soccer, softball, tennis, volleyball, baseball and golf teams.
The Youngstown Phantoms is a Junior American ice hockey team that competes in the United States Hockey League. Based out of Youngstown, Ohio, the Tier I Junior A squad hosts its home games at the Covelli Centre and has seen a few of its players go on to be drafted into the NHL, including defenseman Scott Mayfield in 2011.
